A Beautiful Mess - Tidy Room, Tidy Mind!

Happy Saturday Friends!

Saturdays are my favourite day of the week! The work week is done, you've had Friday night to unwind and Saturday is my 'me' day, it's the day where I make a plan, tidy sort and prepare.
This saturday I am busy tidying away my craft room. Keeping it in order has not been happening so much over the past few months, so it's ready for a good clear out and tidy.

Before ...

Craftermath, the result of a very busy day crafting!

I still had Christmas craft leftovers that needed to be put away for next year.

Everything that gotten a bit all over the place and organisation needed to be restored. Some of the layout meant certain items were hard to reach and even harder to put away... hence the mess!

I also feel more creative and productive in a tidy room, how about you?

After...

My Die cut machine is now easy to use and can go away again neatly. All my paper pads are organised within the boxes, of course by size order.

My cards are in easy reach, organised and arranged, the card stock has been tidied and the stamps moved.

Well I am quite happy with that, a tidy functional craft room!

My Stamps are now right next to my desk, as are my planners and other essentials.

My desk is tidy and ready for my next creation. Sadly, I will just have to accept I am a messy crafter, so it will not stay tidy for long.

Enjoy your day and craft till your hearts content, after all that hard work, I am taking a break and going to the Cinema to watch the new Beauty And The Beast movie.

Trimcraft Bloggers Day

Crating For Crafting Sake

Hi Friends,

On Saturday the 25th of February,I was lucky enough to be apart of the very first (hopefully of many) Trimcraft Bloggers's Day events. It was organised by some of my friends and colleagues at Trimcraft

It was such an amazing day filled with craft, cake, laughter and blogging! The event was to celebrate the launch of The Craft Blog https://www.trimcraft.co.uk/ which replaces the old Trimcraft website.

The new blog is a haven for inspiration, projects and all round crafty goodness. It has such a fresh and contemporary feel to the blog and most importantly, its so easy to use. This is a great one stop shop for all things crafty.

Whilst as the bloggers day we were lucky enough to to take part in a variety of crafting projects and makes. The first make of the day was Deco Mache. I just think there is something so therapeutic about this craft.

we were all given frames to decorate and a hug choice of papers! I chose to use the First Edition Map Deco Mache papers, I love the detailing it went perfectly with the heart and corkboard stickers.

I was so happy with the finished result.

Next we moved on to making origami flowers, something that I have always wanted to do but had never tried as it looked quite complicated, I was so wrong, it was so easy and so much fun.

I used the stunning blooming lovely papers and mixed them up to create contrasting colours. I think this is such a great idea and perfect for Mother's Day or Easter.

After all that crafting, I was very pleased that lunch was announced, this was well needed and very much enjoyed by all, the selection was great and it gave us time to talk to fellow crafters.

Every single one of the people I met at the Bloggers day was so talented and worked so hard on their chosen crafts. There was Sarah from Bella Coco a very talented and popular Crochet tutorial Youtuber, she also has the most delightful blog. Next there was Elizabeth John from Love From Lizi, she is a single mum turned superhero, who has worked so hard to create an amazing monthly card subscription box. She puts all her card creations on Youtube and puts her heart and soul into creating the boxes.
I also has the pleasure of meeting The Crafty Gentleman, you may know him, as he also stared in Kirsty's homemade Christmas. Mike was the only gentleman at the event but seemed to take it all in his stride. I also met the lovely Daisy from My Green Cow, Emma from these Glittery Hands, Ruth from A passion for cards, Lyndsey from Lyndsey Marie Designs and of course the very talented Kathy Crafts was there!

My favourite challenge of the day was to create something to leave behind that was going to be put on the Trimcraft mannequin for them to put in pride of place in the office showroom. We had to do this using the stunning Wild Flower papers.

I used this stunning purple watercolour paper as my frame and backed it with a lovely mixed purple paper as a background. I cut out the scissors and penguin to add a bit of my personality to the project and used the simply creative letters to spell out TLCC for The Little Craft Cave.

It was a jam packed day of crafting fun, it was so well planned and thought out and I was honored to be a part of it.  Safe to say I cam out with new friends, new ideas and a deeper love for the amazing Trimcraft products.

Please do go and check out some of the amazing people who attended below and if you want to see more of the day, I have added the Trimcraft video from the day.

Beauty and the Beast Planner Layout 2017| The Little Craft Cave

A Tale As Old As Time

Hi Friends,

For me Beauty And The Beast has always been my favourite Disney film, I shared Belle's love of books and education. I loved that the characters came to life and had their own personalities and the notion that everyone given the chance can be loved.

Fast forward 24 years and I am delighted once more as there is going to be a new version of The Beauty And The Beast classic, staring Emma Watson, which in my opinion is a perfect choice.

I have my tickets booked to go and see it on the 18th of March and I am so excited! As tribute to this amazing film, my planner layout for this week is of course Beauty And The Beast themed.

How adorable are these planners stickers!! I am so happy with this layout. Please go and watch the video below of my Planer layout.

Happy Crafting.

''Spring has Sprung'' Love From lizi March Blog Hop

Hi Friends,

Happy March the 1st! Thanks for stopping by today! Spring is just the most beautiful season, a time for regrowth, rejuvenation and of course, lots of crafting.
This month I am so excited to be part of the Love From Lizi Spring themed blog hop.

Please be sure to hop all the way, we don't want you to miss out on any of the stunning projects and of course, comment on all the blogs (including this one) because there is a chance of winning a Love From Lizi sold out March kit or £20 to spend in her online shop.

Spring Has Sprung Card

The card was inspired by my love of all things spring and of course my obsession with anything purple.

We were tasked with using one thing from Lizi's shop as part of the spring theme, I chose to use the stunning papers she had. (whats great is they can be purchased as a mini kit in her shop)

Shopping List

  • 1 of the LFL Mini Bohemian Packs (www.lovefromlizi.com)
  • Pearlescent Cardstock
  • Flower and leaf die set
  • Double sided tape
  • Foam squares
  • Polaroid frames
  • 3d butterflies
  • Glitter enamel dots
  • Pearl dots
  • wooden butterfly veneer
  • Sentiment

These stunning paper really made me feel creative and filled me with the crafting joys of spring!

I started by folding a piece of gorgeous pearlescent card and then fussy cutting out the border from one of the pattened papers, I then stuck it to one side to frame the card. To give the card some depth, I used foam squares to stick on the border.

My favourite part of the card were the flowers, these were made using  flower dies, which I then folder over the edges and stuck on to bigger flower to give a 3D effect.

I finished off the centre of the flower with a purple glittery enamel dot. I was so happy with how these turned out.

The leaves were done using the a die from the same pack and I used pearlescent card to give them a shine.

I also added these adorable butterflies to the card, along with some pearl dots to add texture.

I finished off the right side of the card with a white polaroid frame, I added two more of the flowers, this time using sequins in the middle. I then added a floral tag in the middle of the frame and added a wooden butterfly as a focal point of the card, I felt the wood contrasted well with the bright colours on the card.

I then finished the card off with a best wishes sentiment and some more enamel and pearl dots.

Love From Lizi Card Kit

Hello,

Make a cup of tea, sit down and enjoy. Pay attention, there is a new card subscription box on the market, its UK based and its amazing!!

I received the kit this week and spent a treasured evening getting creative with it, it was a box full of inspiration and crafting joy.

The creator of the card kit Lizi is a craft genius who makes amazing 10 cards 1 kit video's on YouTube showing the versatility and beauty of the box. Lizi is a avid subscription box subscriber who saw a gap in the British market for a card subscription kit and thus the Love From Lizi Card Kit was born.

The card subscription is in its 4th month and going strong. She uses her love of crafting and great eye for exquisite supplies to put together a mix of amazing goodies.

I am not usually a card maker, unless its for a specific occasion, however, this kit has changed that, it made me love the whole experience of card making. The kit challenged me to create and explore.

My favourite card that I crafted using the kit, is my Beauty and the Beast rose. As soon as I saw the wood veneer roses, I knew what I was going to do.

I made a shaker card highlight the rose.

Please go and check out the Love from Lizi site, http://lovefromlizi.com/
I urge you to subscribe and hope you love the kits as much as I do.

Please see my unboxing video below and look out for my 10 cards 1 kit video, coming very soon.

Happy Crafting!

Lollipop Box Club Review

Lollipop Box Club Review -January Kit- Make It Happen

Hello and welcome back to The Little Craft Cave, Katie here. Today I wanted to share with you my review of the Lollipop Box Kit. I was sent this by the lovely Lisa who puts all the things she adores the most into a box each month and adds a little of her craft love and creativity.

Each month Lisa chooses amazing craft supplies to go into the box, its a mixture of scrapbook, happy mail and stationary treats all in one!

The box arrives in the post, its a great size, it amazed me how much crafty goodness came in such a small box. I opened the box to find the contents wrapped in blue tissue paper, sealed like a gift with a lollipop box sticker.  Like a child opening a gift, I was desperate to dig in and find out what was hidden inside!!
Safe to say, I was not disappointed! What first struck me was that each item was wrapped up in a beautiful paper bag, making each item both exciting and a mystery.

The box contained so many craft supplies, there was a beautiful washi tape, 2 planner clips, 2 scrapbook papers, wooden venners, postcards, a pen, a pencil, a stickers sheet, a lucky charm, a goals list and more! You could tell that Lisa had put so much time and effort into choosing the items that went into the box. There was make your own paper clips and a personalised to do list in the kit, adding the perfect homemade touch.
The kit for me was perfect, it gave me instant inspiration, firstly for my love of all things planning. I put together the pieces in the picture to use as a layout for my planner.
Not forgetting the amazing supplies that I can use for my scrapbooking. I am currently scrapbooking my wedding and honeymoon, so the papers and embellishments included were perfect.

There are 3 options when buying the kit,  £17.00 for a one off purchase, £16.00 for a 1 month rolling subscription or £15.00 for a 6 month subscription. The kits go on sale on the 1st of each month and can be purchased from http://www.lollipopboxclub.com/buy-subscribe/

The Lollipop box is a fantastic, a must have for any craft or stationary love. It is such a reasonable price and is such a treat to open!

Please see my unboxing video below.

Happy Crafting!

Lots of love Katie at the The Little Craft Cave xx
