Hi Crafty Friends,

You may have noticed that there has not been as many videos or blog posts recently, do not fear, there is a reason, The Little Craft Cave has moved, as have I. Moving is very stressful and time consuming, so sadly my creative output has suffered. Thankfuly we are all moved now, I just need to recostruct my Little Craft Cave, which is this weekends job, I am so excited to do this.

So I will share here my old craft space... it worked whilst I was there but, I so excited to have more space and a change up.

I still have the same desks, units and equipment, I am just changing the arrangment and organising it better.

I am so excited to get organising and creating.

So stay tuned and I will be sharing the before, after and organisation process.
Happy Crafting.

10 Projects 1 Kit -Cards

Masculine Cards

Hi Friends, I hope the bank holiday has been kind to you? How are we nearly in June, this year is flying by. Today, I want to share with you my 10 Projects 1 kit, using the amazing Love From Lizi May Kit.

Project 1 was cards, I made the six cards below. This kit was great but took me out of my comfort zone, I dont usually make masculine cards, so this was both a challange and a new adventure.

Thankfully, I love it. It was great crafting with this kit and creating some unique and stylish cards.

Card 1 was this unusual whale card. I made this card using two of the patterned papers in the kit, the velum whale and the letter brads to spell amazing. This card would be great for a birthday, Father's day or as a thank you for a man.

Card 2 I made as a Fathers Day card for my Father in Law, he is simply one of the the most amazing men I have ever met. I used some patterned paper, layered some velum and stamped the movie strip stamp on to the luggage tag. I think this has a lovely retro feel and is just perfect for a film loving man.

Card 3 was a tribute to my amazing Husband, he trully is my hero! I used the glasses, filstrip stamp, the beautiful pocket watch sticker and the music velum sheet to showcase all the things that reminded me of him. This will be saved for a thank you to him.

Card 4, is a card for my Father for Father's Day, he is a huge animal lover and has a great sense of humour so will appreciate the elephant wearing the glasses.
I loved the layers on this card and kept the paper simple as I wanted the elephant to be the focal point of the card.

Card 5 is a music medly card.

I used a music themed patterned paper, then created layers using stickers which I added depth to by using double sided foam tape to stick them on. I fnished off the card with some twine and blue gems.

Card 6 is this beautiful turtle. I loved using the blue tones to make a loveky contrast to this card. I love how you can see the paper through the velum and I used the gem to create the bubbles. I find animals so megestic and I loved how simple yet elegant this card turned out.

I hope you enjoyed my cards :)

Planner Layouts

Hi Friends,

What can I say this month has just flown by. I must say the April Love from Lizi kit was my favourite, I loved the adorable egg stamps, the vibrant coloured papers and the creativity it inspired within me. I adore crafting and I founds this kit just inspired me to create lots of lovely crafts.

I am an organised planner geek, so my mind raced and my heart pounded with happiness, when I realised this kit screamed planner layouts!!

So out sprung my happy planner and the creativity began, the stickers included in the kit and the clear add on stickers were perfect for planning!

As were the lovely papers and adorable embellishments.

For my first layout I used the clear stickers, add on Washi tape (I am obsessed with Washi!)

I used the bunting embellishments for my header and went to town with the stickers, I loved the simple, vibrant spring feel to this layout.

Next, I did my Easter layout, using the gorgeous bunny, thatch and multi-coloured papers. I finished it off with more washi and the stunning white peel offs.

Look how adorable that washi is!?

Hope you've had a lovely April and have been doing lots of crafting?

10 Projects 1 Kit

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am rather excited to introduce a new segment to my Youtube channel and blog, its 10 Projects 1 kit. This months Love From Lizi kit, is the amazing Spring themed April kit. Its full of Easter surprises, spring cuteness and stamping success.

It has cute bunny bobble tails, chick stamps and stunning papers, I am living the crafting dreams. I am getting to create projects with beautiful supplies.

My series will be 3 videos each month using the Love From Lizi kit, to make 4 cards, 3 planner layouts and 3 scrapbook layouts. This makes a total of 10 Projects.

I am so excited as these are crafts that I have a passion for and love that I get to share them. The great thing about this kit is its so versatile so that not only can it be used for making cards, it also works for stunning planner pages, scrapbook story pages, kids crafting and paper projects.

Part one of my projects this month was cards. This months kit is Easter and spring themed and that led me very well to creating 3 Easter themed children's cards and an adults spring card.

For card I used a stunning patterned paper, an individual element and a sentiment.

I loved how whimsical and cutesy these two particular cards turned out, I loved adding the fluffy tail to the bunny and I adore how sweet that rabbit looks popping out of the basket of eggs.

This kit brought back so many fond memories of Easter egg hunts growing up, the vivid colors and textures in the kit reminded me of decorating eggs and crafting cards as a child.

After making three child friendly Easter cards I chose to do my last card as a spring themed card for an adult.

It was a very simple card but, I loved how the window allows the butterfly to be the main focal point of the card whilst open or closed.

I also loved how the spring sentiment sat nicely on the edge of the window and finished off the card.

There is a video tutorial at the bottom of this page of how to make each of the cards featured in this blog post.

I am so excited to share this will you all, below is a sneak peak of the 10 Project 1 kit, Part 2- Planner Layouts.

Please let me know which card was your favourite?

Happy Crafting!!

March Favourites

'' Its one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold; when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.'' -Charles Dickens

Hi Friends,

Now that the weather is getting warmer (slightly) and most importantly the days are getting longer, it means more time for crafting! The sun is shining and the world around is awakening for Spring.

So I thought I would share my favourite products and crafty makes of March.

By far my favourite craft of March has to be the Love From Lizi March Kit, with papers that have been kissed with the flowers of spring and crafting delights to please the eye, it is a no-brainer. I made 10 glorious cards with this kit.

Next I had a haul this month, after being so good in January and February, it was time to dust off the cards and purchase some crafty goodies. Below, I have mentioned a few of my favourites.

I love my Happy Planner and was excited to find that they did a home planner insert, safe to say with this was purchased in a heart beat and my spring cleaning has been planned and implemented. It looks gorgeous in my planner and it means everything is in one place, pure perfection for an organisation enthusiast like myself.

Next with Mother's Day being in March and adoring my Mum because of the amazing woman she is, I saw this stamp and just had to have it, this was promptly used to make her card.

Now as I am getting back into card making thanks to the LFL kit, bringing inspiration back into my card crafting, I purchased the Tim Holts Distress Ink and blending tools, which I have loved using!

There was nothing more satisfying than being able to make a card or scrapbook or  layout look old, without having to waste a precious teabag. All I need now is a distressing tool and I am set.

Last and my no means least, my March Beauty And the Beast planner layout, not only is this my favourite layout for March but my favourite in general, Beauty And The Beast was my favourite Disney classic and will always hold a special place in my heart, so you can imagine my excitement  when I stumbles upon this on Etsy (by stumbled upon, I mean I spent ages searching for it.)

Hope this has given you some inspiration, what was your favourite product or craft in March?

A Beautiful Mess - Tidy Room, Tidy Mind!

Happy Saturday Friends!

Saturdays are my favourite day of the week! The work week is done, you've had Friday night to unwind and Saturday is my 'me' day, it's the day where I make a plan, tidy sort and prepare.
This saturday I am busy tidying away my craft room. Keeping it in order has not been happening so much over the past few months, so it's ready for a good clear out and tidy.

Before ...

Craftermath, the result of a very busy day crafting!

I still had Christmas craft leftovers that needed to be put away for next year.

Everything that gotten a bit all over the place and organisation needed to be restored. Some of the layout meant certain items were hard to reach and even harder to put away... hence the mess!

I also feel more creative and productive in a tidy room, how about you?

After...

My Die cut machine is now easy to use and can go away again neatly. All my paper pads are organised within the boxes, of course by size order.

My cards are in easy reach, organised and arranged, the card stock has been tidied and the stamps moved.

Well I am quite happy with that, a tidy functional craft room!

My Stamps are now right next to my desk, as are my planners and other essentials.

My desk is tidy and ready for my next creation. Sadly, I will just have to accept I am a messy crafter, so it will not stay tidy for long.

Enjoy your day and craft till your hearts content, after all that hard work, I am taking a break and going to the Cinema to watch the new Beauty And The Beast movie.

Trimcraft Bloggers Day

Crating For Crafting Sake

Hi Friends,

On Saturday the 25th of February,I was lucky enough to be apart of the very first (hopefully of many) Trimcraft Bloggers's Day events. It was organised by some of my friends and colleagues at Trimcraft

It was such an amazing day filled with craft, cake, laughter and blogging! The event was to celebrate the launch of The Craft Blog https://www.trimcraft.co.uk/ which replaces the old Trimcraft website.

The new blog is a haven for inspiration, projects and all round crafty goodness. It has such a fresh and contemporary feel to the blog and most importantly, its so easy to use. This is a great one stop shop for all things crafty.

Whilst as the bloggers day we were lucky enough to to take part in a variety of crafting projects and makes. The first make of the day was Deco Mache. I just think there is something so therapeutic about this craft.

we were all given frames to decorate and a hug choice of papers! I chose to use the First Edition Map Deco Mache papers, I love the detailing it went perfectly with the heart and corkboard stickers.

I was so happy with the finished result.

Next we moved on to making origami flowers, something that I have always wanted to do but had never tried as it looked quite complicated, I was so wrong, it was so easy and so much fun.

I used the stunning blooming lovely papers and mixed them up to create contrasting colours. I think this is such a great idea and perfect for Mother's Day or Easter.

After all that crafting, I was very pleased that lunch was announced, this was well needed and very much enjoyed by all, the selection was great and it gave us time to talk to fellow crafters.

Every single one of the people I met at the Bloggers day was so talented and worked so hard on their chosen crafts. There was Sarah from Bella Coco a very talented and popular Crochet tutorial Youtuber, she also has the most delightful blog. Next there was Elizabeth John from Love From Lizi, she is a single mum turned superhero, who has worked so hard to create an amazing monthly card subscription box. She puts all her card creations on Youtube and puts her heart and soul into creating the boxes.
I also has the pleasure of meeting The Crafty Gentleman, you may know him, as he also stared in Kirsty's homemade Christmas. Mike was the only gentleman at the event but seemed to take it all in his stride. I also met the lovely Daisy from My Green Cow, Emma from these Glittery Hands, Ruth from A passion for cards, Lyndsey from Lyndsey Marie Designs and of course the very talented Kathy Crafts was there!

My favourite challenge of the day was to create something to leave behind that was going to be put on the Trimcraft mannequin for them to put in pride of place in the office showroom. We had to do this using the stunning Wild Flower papers.

I used this stunning purple watercolour paper as my frame and backed it with a lovely mixed purple paper as a background. I cut out the scissors and penguin to add a bit of my personality to the project and used the simply creative letters to spell out TLCC for The Little Craft Cave.

It was a jam packed day of crafting fun, it was so well planned and thought out and I was honored to be a part of it.  Safe to say I cam out with new friends, new ideas and a deeper love for the amazing Trimcraft products.

Please do go and check out some of the amazing people who attended below and if you want to see more of the day, I have added the Trimcraft video from the day.
